Lazy Saturdays

Yeah right! Saturdays are always a struggle for me. I usually have a to do list a mile long, mostly involving cooking. Rick also has a to do list a mile long usually involving tools, and getting things out of some deep dark place and putting them in the middle of the kid zone. Meanwhile the kids have a mile long to do list of redistributing things that were once put away. And at the end of it is supposed to be a sabbath meal with joyful people gathered around a table. It is a work in progress.

I am grateful for all of the work that I have to do today. I read a post from the Livesays in Haiti, and I am grateful that mosquitoes are dormant for the winter. If you are feeling inclined to grumble today check their blog out first.

We are wrapping this Saturday up with a pot-luck with other families in the area that have adopted children from Ethiopia. They are a wonderful bunch of people and I am excited to have dinner with them. If I remember my camera I will post some pictures, if I don't maybe Lisa will. I am planning to make and Asian Noodle Salad from the pioneer woman's website. If you haven't had it yet you should give it a try. It is a great pot-luck type of salad, or just sit down and eat the whole bowl by yourself. Really, I dropped my plate on the fourth of July and was VERY tempted to pick it out of the grass and eat it anyway.

By the way, K-man and E both got ribbons at the speech meet yesterday. We missed E by a minute, but got to see K-man. They did a great job, I was so pleased with them.
