Joy to the World

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,And wonders, wonders, of His love.

Words: Isaac Watts, 1719

I love Christmas hymns. They are so hopeful, powerful, unflinching in their proclamation of the gospel and what it means to the world. I love the third verse of Joy to the World. He comes to make His blessings flow far as the curse is found. It seems sometimes that the curse has us beat, but the Christmas hymns remind us that Christ conquered all that. Merry Christmas.

I love Christmas hymns as well. I want to go listen to Joy to the World now. I haven't heard it all season.
