The Blessing of Gas
Since I have had several people ask how I cooked dinner without electricity I thought I would share my secret. I have a gas range, which I love, that works without electricity. I can do everything but bake, and grind coffee. If I thought the electricity was going to be gone for real, forever I would invest in a coffee maker that didn't require electricity and a good book light. We were able to grill chicken and boil potatoes for mashed potatoes.

That was a great teaching moment for your family. One of my girls told me a story about how she and one of your girls were trying to turn on the Wii and it took a few tries before they remembered that it wasn't possible!
