The fourth of July is extra special for our family. Not only is it our nations birthday, it is also our cousin's, and Omega's is the fifth. We decided to celebrate beach style. My sister-in-law called and asked if we could swing by on our way home, since all Tage wanted was to see K-man for his birthday. We decided it would be a good break in the road trip, and she agreed to make a princess cake for our little princess. (Thanks Rach)
The fireworks at the beach were great. Grand Pam kept us safely on the deck for the show. Some of us daredevils wanted to head to the beach with the rest of the pyromaniacs. We had a good view, and the smoke probably wasn't as bad. The show started well before dark, and was going strong well after the crowd had dispersed at gasworks park in Seattle. We know because we watched it on T.V. The kids were relieved. We hadn't bought any fireworks this year, and they were sure the show would be lame. It was great fun, even when the fog rolled in.
We got up bright and early the next morning and headed for UB's. They had the cake, ice cream and cherries ready for us. We spent a couple of hours tearing up their back yard and then headed back home. We missed the exciting thunderstorm that hit Idaho. Our umbrella was still on the back deck which was good news. Omega got everything she wanted, a princess back pack, gum, a jump rope and a princess cake. Life is good.
Nes sang Happy Birthday to Nes all the way home, a mini rebellion, but understandable. He is still a bit disgruntled that Omega is now the same age he is. He has spent the last four months pointing out to everyone that he is older than she is, it loses its punch when you are the same number of years. His day will come when he will again be a year older.

GASP!!!!No dog puke pictures!!!! I was thinking it might be a fun way to torment the rest of us...Tell Helen I love her and I was THRILLED to make her a princess cake! Thanks for stopping by!
Happy happy Birthday my beautiful princess Omega. Don't you love how humble little kids are for birthday presents?
I love the brand new family picture. They are getting better by the day. Also the one where everyone gathers around the table in the swimsuits. Yes, if that's okay with you we'd love to be at the ocean for the 4th of July but especially for Omega's birthday.
