Build Families, Not Barriers - Petition - Sign this petition here - Signature page - GoPetition

When we went to pick Nes up in Ethiopia we were able to get our visa appointment 20 days after we passed court. We made it in before the CDC changed their guidelines for TB testing. The families that went to court just a few weeks after us had to have their children tested for TB before they could make their visa appointments. For kids with HIV this meant an eight week delay, if they are negative, and longer if they are positive. We were able to test Nes when we got home, and had he tested positive he could be treated here. The treatment is a several month process.

The joint council that is sponsoring this petition is a council of adoption agencies working in international adoption. They are interested in protecting these children especially older children and special needs children. If you are interested in helping these kids in a small way please consider reading this petition and signing it. Thank You!
