Court Date

Erin emailed last week and let us know that our court date has been set for Nov. 18. It has been a crazy week filled with extra little people, which is not conducive to blogging. I of course, wanted to shout it from the roof tops, which I sort of did, but haven't posted it yet. This is cruising along so much quicker than our last adoption that it is catching me a bit off guard.

My Mom was planning to travel with me, but she can't leave the country until mid-March. If everything continues to clip along we may be traveling in January sometime. I have a couple of friends that I am really hoping can come with me. One is my friend Lisa, and her daughter, that is Jubilee's friend. It would be so wonderful if they could come, I just can't even imagine how excited all of the kids at AHOPE would be. Now my mind is swirling with ideas of what to pack. I have most of the boring things ready, passports, vaccinations, and such. I have been gathering ideas of what to take for Jubilee, what to take for gifts for her friends, what to take for our sponsored children, how much does all of that weigh?

I have also been reading books on parenting our adopted children. I find them full of great information, but overwhelming at the same time. When I read them I get the same feeling I get when I walk into A Michael's craft store. There are so many great things, but where to start, and what do I need today? I am hopeful that some of it is settling in my brain and that I will be able to recall it when the moment arrives that it would be valuable to know. If not, I guess that is why therapists get paid the big bucks. They have all of that in their instant recall, and are far enough removed from the situation to be able to see it more clearly than I can. Maybe I should be reading books on how to find a good therapist. I am hoping that all of the wonderful things that people have said about Jubilee are true. It was especially fun to ask Honeybee about her. She sounds like a very level headed, sweet girl. So now we continue to wait, but very joyfully, knowing that the wait is not as long as it was last year.

I too can't believe it is happening so soon but I am so very happy for you. I am sure Jubilee (ha that blog name is very cute)is as nice as they say. Often times when we parent children it seems to come natural and I bet you would do an amazing job just without the books especially if the kids are nice. Can you imagine if Lisa and Honeybee could travel with you? That would be just incredible...

do what you wanna do because thats what your gonna do anyway said...

congrats that is awesome.. i need to come see you guys again soon :)
