We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We got to teach Nes what Thanksgiving is all about. He even got to see Grandpa shoot at a wild turkey, and miss. Thank God we had a Tyson turkey in the fridge. We also got to introduce Nes to our tradition of painting the children's hands and putting them on the Christmas tree skirt. We are quickly running out of room on the current skirt, so there was much discussion on what to do next. There will be two new hands to add next year, with Jubilee and my step-brother's new baby. Grandma will have to get creative.

We are very thankful for all of our children, and the blessings that we have received through them this year. They have all grown, well Mads might not have, but she has matured and is a lovely lady. We had wonderful food all week, and I didn't have to prepare any of it. It was quite a vacation. We don't have t.v. at home so we got caught up on Dancing With The Stars, and bull riding. Who knew the kids would love those shows?

We got to burn all kinds of things. Isn't that part of the Thanksgiving tradition? We made s'mores, burned all available sticks, put a few holes in shoes, and generally smoked up the valley. I found the fire in the wood stove the most appealing, it is the best spot in the house to sit.

We even got a skiff of snow. There was more snow at Rick's parent's house, they actually had enough for snowmen. It had all melted by the time we left, but I'm sure the skiing was excellent the day after Thanksgiving. We have much to be thankful for, and it was very nice to be able to share this holiday with our parents.

Some how we have to figure out how to be together for a holiday...Even if it means lines of sleeping bags on the floor!
