Partly rainy, then sun

Yesterday was stormy, but the kids still wanted to go to the beach. I had already walked the dune trail, and was not going back out. They talked Rick into a 15 minute jaunt to the beach. He said they got sandblasted the whole time, but they didn't seem to care. We spent the rest of the day watching movies. Some days at the beach are like that. It is sort of like Omega's personality, constantly changing without much warning.

Today is a stunning sunny day. We all walked down to the jetty. My mom would have a fit if she were with us, but she is at work. The kids climbed on the rocks down to the water. Nes fell of the sand wall, while trying to reach K-man at the top. It was a softish landing.

We all got covered in sand. When Rick decided it was time to head back before the tide reached our shoes and coats, we were one wave too late. We packed up the eight kids, wet coats and shoes and walked the dune trail back to the condo. Nes got carried most of the way, we are big suckers for his little grin.

This is the updated bff picture. Getting Bk to be friendly these days is not easy. She likes her personal space.

Jubilee has been with her friends in town for the last two days. I keep looking for her, and then remember she isn't here. I do miss her. It feels a little more comfortable with her not here, but I feel like we are incomplete. I started to think that this is a taste of things to come.

Our family right now has all the same quirks. We all know our little jokes, and have the same history. In a few years this will start to change. We will start having new members join our clan. My little kids are going to grow up and marry people that will change our family dynamic. They may not get our sense of humor. They may not get along with some of the other members. They may not like the "mother-in-law." They will become family and our comfortable little group will look different. It is good for me to remember that this is just one season of life. My cozy little clan is going to grow up and change. It will be full of blessing, but full of challenge too. Life is always changing.

hm interesting, I didn't know this about BK:) But its most certainly the age. Glad M. I spending some time with friends. Now if you want to change up your family dynamics, let's marry Amira and S (since that's Kevin's bestest buddy) and Biruk and H. What nice matches:)
