Fourteen years ago today I got to hold my second daughter. She looked nothing like her sister. She was fat and pink. We used to call her the roller derby queen, and joke that her nickname would be peaches. She was tough. She still is. She has a very dry sense of humor, and an adventurous spirit. She is thoughtful, and will ask the tough questions. I love to go on walks with her, because that is when she likes to get into deep discussions. She is my kid that will disappear when she knows there is work to be done. It is a special gift that she has developed. But if I get onto her too harshly she takes it hard. She won't let you know that she cares with too much mush. That makes the times that she comes up and just sits right next to me and gives me a hug extra special. She was the cutest toddler ever. I love her very much and can't wait to see what God does in her life this coming year.

Aww...sweet Brookie. Great pic of her. She is so much like our Kaylee, avoiding chores, stealing away time to just draw, and one where physical closeness is treasured (we call Kaylee the prickly pear, and Joel her polar opposite). Have a GREAT day!
