This is my brother. He is my only brother, and this is him at his finest. Flannel pants and a jelly donut in hand, I'm sure his coffee cup is near by. Last year on Labor Day we spent a fabulous weekend at Spirit Lake with his family, my Dad and Sandi, and the Rheingans. It was a great cabin, great food, great weather, great friends. Unfortunately the cabin sold this year so it is no longer available. Brant and Rachel moved from Moscow a couple of years ago. It was a sad day for us, but a very good move for them. They actually moved to my parent's hometown. We looked into moving there this spring, but things didn't seem to be going that direction for us, and of course we got sidetracked with adoption. For some reason I'm just really missing them. My Dad also lives several hours away, and my Mom is a good healthy days drive. I often wish we had grandparents that could take the kids out to lunch, or come to some of their games. I didn't have that growing up, but I did get to spend time at their homes in the summer. I guess there are trade offs. Today is also my Mom's birthday and I don't get to take her to lunch. Of course if I did live closer I'd have to schedule lunch because all of her friends like to take her to lunch and she is not a cheap date! Well, I miss you all. Happy Birthday Mom!

Oh my goodness we miss you too! Today Violet was on my lap and told me she needed to play with Helen! Can we start working on a weekend to get together?
