Black Friday

The five year old boys woke up this morning and announced that they needed to visit Uncle Jim. My brother lives in the town that both my parents grew up in. Uncle Jim lives on the ranch that my Dad grew up on. My Dad and his brother look very much alike. The kids used to get confused and called them both Grandpa M. They love to visit "the ranch". They play on the tire swing in the barn, and play house in the smaller barn with the old wood cook stove. They broke the ice on the creek that flows through the barnyard. My aunt also knows how to keep kids happy. She has a candy jar, the great old little tikes toys from the '50's. She knew we were coming to town so she made rice krispy treats. We spent a couple of hours visiting and then drove back down to the valley.

It's a foggy day here in the river valley. Beach Grandma and BK went shopping. We were trying to figure out why they call in black Friday. Why not call it Red and Green Friday? We just had our second round of leftovers and Rick is playing bingo with the kids that are too old to nap. The Cougs are playing basketball this afternoon so we will check in with them.

Tomorrow Beach Grandma, the big girls and I are headed for the big city. We are going to see the Lucy exhibit at the Pacific Science Center. I can't wait. We are going out for Ethiopian food, and maybe shopping for Injera. It will be a fun adventure for us. And so far no one has been sick.
