We had lunch at the Hales Ales Brewery in Fremont. The food was fabulous, as was the beer. I ran into Mike, Kathleen and Sam, which is always a pleasure. I didn't buy any beer to go while I was there because we were in a hurry to get to Lucy. When we came back that evening the retail shop was closed so I had to buy it at Fred Meyer. I should really talk to the owner.
We made it to the Lucy exhibit. We went to the Imax movie, The Mystery of the Nile. It was a very nice exhibit. There was a lot of the history of Ethiopia, as well as information about the country and its culture. The Imax movie was very interesting. I really want to see Lallibella. I definitely will not be swimming in the Blue Nile.
Mom took some artsy pictures of the Science Center and the Space Needle.
This is a picture of George the Seagull on the dinosaur's back.
Waiting patiently in line. We waited a lot on this trip.
The girls did get to do some shopping. They had some great sales. We stayed at the Red Lion downtown. It was a very nice hotel. The only hitch was that our only exit from the parking garage was on to fifth street, which just happened to be on the Seattle Marathon route. The Marathon started at 8:15 at the City Center, we managed to fly out of the lot at 8:13. God was good.
We had dinner at Lallibella on Cherry St. We had a fairly lengthy wait before we got our food, but it was worth it. The vegetables were wonderful. I really liked the injera. I am not a big fan of berberi, so the dora wat was not my favorite. We had lamb that was really wonderful, and the people at the table next to us had beef that smelled really good. It was a fun experience. The girls liked eating with their fingers until they realized that we didn't have napkins and they had nothing to clean their hands up with. We were also surprised at how fast we got full. That injera really fills you up.
We made it back, before the fog rolled in. Here is the endless line of taillights coming into Pullman. Mads asked if they were all college students. We concluded that they weren't all college students, but they probably all had some connection to the University. We are home, and very thankful for a great holiday.
