Comfort Zones

Like most people I have zones in my life that are pretty comfortable. Generally I like to stick right in them. Lately God has been nudging me out a bit. I don't like chaos, noise, messes, controversy, just general out of orderness. I believe that God is an orderly Spirit, but He knows that too much order is not good for us. I have been getting a bit fussed up about things and I am seeing gentle reminders in my life that I need to chill out.

Today after Bible study my soul was feeling a bit churned up. I stopped and prayed for God to still the waters. I realized that God is at work around me. He put me in just the right group, so that I would see His word in new ways. He is bringing people Check Spellinginto my life that don't think like I do, and that is for my good. He is using these people to give me the opportunity to grow in grace. My kids are doing their part as well. They have had lots of good questions and situations lately that have made me think about why my schedule is the way it is.

I am thankful today that God surprises us in our lives. He chooses people that we don't expect to save us. He puts us in uncomfortable places so that we will trust Him. I am grateful that He doesn't let me get what I think I want.
