The Good News, and the Bad News

We had our flights all worked out due to my excellent travel agent, and my brilliant friend Heather. I am not good with large amounts of detail, so I delegated the job and I chose the right person. She got an itinerary that did not leave me coaxing two young ladies through three airports at awful times of the night, only to end up with a five hour drive home. After a lot of back and forth we got schedules that were beautiful and affordable. They need birth dates to book tickets however, and I didn't know Jubilee's. So, I sent off an email to find that key bit of information. I had been given the year, but no month or day. The birth certificate came back with a very different year than I was expecting. Not a big deal as far as getting a child that I am prepared for. It will mean extra paperwork at re adoption here in the US. The hitch is that it may mean we need a new birth certificate to be issued in Ethiopia. That could take a while. I will find out how that all plays out tomorrow, stay tuned.

That would be the bad news, the good news is that the US embassy has been given notice that the visa waiver for HIV+ children has been lifted. I posted about this a while ago, but the embassy was not budging. Today, they were given the notice they asked for, so Lord willing, that hurdle will be removed. This also means I can work out a flight schedule to return with my friends, which will be more fun.

You just never know what new adventure you might wake up to. I have learned to take it all in stride, not to let it get me ruffled. I am going to keep on baking cookies, and enjoy my children singing Joy to the World tonight, whether I travel to Ethiopia in January, or February, or whenever the Lord wills.
