I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my post on Jubilee's depression. Your thoughts and prayers were very encouraging. Monday we had a day off of school. Jubilee got up with great determination to get some exercise. Her doctor expressed some concern about her weight, which I don't think he meant to be quite so alarming, but it got her motivated. She did several laps with the Wii fit after she ate breakfast. Then a friend from down the street invited her to walk to the library with her. It was a good long walk, and she was grateful for the invitation. After lunch she was invited to another friends house, and they also walked quite a ways. I think the combination of endorphins, and friends gave her the boost she needed to keep her smiling all day.
When we were getting ready for bed, and believe me she was ready, I told her that she had been smiling all day. A few weeks ago she had put sad faces on everyday and told me that she felt sad every day. I told her she could put a happy face on this day, because she hadn't been sad all day. She agreed that we should document the good as well as the bad. I put a happy face on my calendar, and when I came down the next day she had put a happy face on her calendar. I know that there will be a lot more sad faces to come, but having a happy face is a great thing. I have so much hope for this beautiful girl, and I think she is starting to have some of her own. Keep those prayers coming!

Praise God all Day because he answers. You have no idea how much the two of you are on my heart. I would have loved to see that smiley face.
