I have been very blessed in my life to have a wonderful father. He has been an excellent example to me of a loving, caring, firm, self-giving parent. I know that there are many, many people who do not have this precious gift. I have also been blessed with a wonderful husband who is also a wonderful father. My children have the double blessing of a godly father, and two excellent grand fathers. I can see that the blessings flow down to them in rich ways. My children have security in knowing that these men watch over them. They pray for them, feed them, protect them, and cheer them on in all of their endeavors.
Jubilee asked Rick yesterday why there are Mothers, and Fathers Days but no children's days. Rick smiled and told her it is because every other day of the year he gets to clean the puke out of the car that his children left there for him. (A little gift from Soso after a long car ride.) She still doesn't appreciate the gift that she has been given. These fathers really do lay their lives down every day, thousands of times for each of us. I am so thankful for their loving sacrifice for me and my children.
Dad, Tony and Rick, you are the greatest men I know. Thank you for taking my kids fishing, for driving all over the state to watch them play games, for picking up puppies, for babysitting, for grilling burgers, for taking the kids on bicycle rides, for teaching them to throw free throws, for hugging them when they are sad, for shaking your heads at our dumb decisions, for biting your tongues, for making us pies, for losing sleep on our behalves. We love you, and wouldn't be the people we are with out you. Happy Fathers Day.

Happy Father's Day Rick!!!! Signe, love the new design of your blog. Starting to feel like that with only washing for 8 people, LOL.
I love the washing machines! They seem so fitting—both literally and metaphorically. ;)
And you can let Jubilee know that there are actually many Children's Days, but that the UN has declared Nov. 20 to be the official "International Children's Day." Here's proof: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_Day
(Note that under the US's entry it says, "Many parents claim that 'every day is Children's Day.'" Yep!)
