June Showers

June on the Palouse is not the cheeriest of months, unless you love unpredictable weather, and typically lots of rain.  The girls started track practice in a two hour downpour.  It wasn't blowing, or cold, so it was kind of fun.  We have been playing with play-do, playing wii, watching way too many movies, reading, cooking, and doing laundry.  There is also this lovely dirt pile stacked up on a vacant lot down the street that has been a kid magnet for the past month or so.  I will be very happy when it moves to a new location.

Our new puppy suffered his first major injury.  He hit the tile floor in the same place I did a few summers ago and broke his leg.  He is now being trained in major lap dog lounging.  I'm not sure what his life will look like in 6-8 weeks when recovers from his injury.  I'm sure it will all work out, and he looks kind of cute with his big red splint.

Jubilee is staying with a friend this week.  It is rainy there too, which is confirming her belief that summer does not actually exist in the US.  She thinks all we have is the rainy season.  She called last night and asked if she could stay a few days longer, I couldn't see that one coming.  I do hope she comes home eventually Kiki misses her.

If anyone out there has brilliant ideas on indoor activities, please leave a comment.  I'm headed out to pull weeds while the sun is out, which will only be for a few minutes.

Minute to win it has some great ideas....here's a couple we've tried....

How many cherrios can you stack in one minute :)

Place 20 army guys at the end of a dinner table, from the other end shoot rubber bands at them, how many can you shoot down in one minute.....the player needs a rubber band runner or an endless supply of rubberbands. I know there are other ideas on the minute to win it website....very fun!
