Little Complications

I'm home with three sick kids today.  Every morning I check the bathroom for sickos, and then sit down at the computer to send an email list of kids that won't be coming to school to the school office.  This is so, not the routine I had in mind for this week.  My wonderful husband and few very sweet Moms have been covering my gaps in my schedule.  When I have to add "nurse Mom" to my list of names it definitely complicates things.  Throw in that this is the week of Madie's varsity play, which also means that we have baked goods to make and sell at intermission.  And the WSU basketball team has a home game this weekend, which we will be cleaning up after.  Ya, color me excited.  Oh wait, AND we are still trying to figure out Thanksgiving.

What happened to being sick, staying home in your jammies and drinking hot tea?  I am very thankful that I am not sick.  These are the days when I so, wish I had a stay at home clone to cover home, while the other me is driving like a maniac all over town.  I am also very thankful we live in a small town that I can cover in less than 12 minutes.  I am thankful for a teenage daughter that is doing the school runs for me.  I am thankful to not have to pick up the kindergartners in the middle of the day.  I am thankful that everyone, so far, has made it to the bathroom when they needed it (no easy task at 7:00 am on a school morning.)  I am thankful I had just enough sugar to finish the double batch of cookies that I needed to make for tonight.  I am thankful that this is just a little stomach virus that will be gone in a week or so.

I am thankful for these unexpected complications that remind me not to take myself too seriously.  It is all working out just fine, thanks to the army of saints that God has surrounded me with.  I will thank God in my prayers for each and every one of you.  I am thankful for this silly little blog that lets me sort out my thoughts.  Once I write them down and see how silly they are it puts everything in perspective.

hm sweet friend, your schedule looks busier than ever:) But you predicted that when all the kids would be attending school. Hope my precious future son-in-law will feel better soon. Kevin sends him a huge hug and wishes him well too.
