Running and Jumping

Another week has shot past, and I am having trouble remembering the half of it.  We have still had kids with pink eye.  We had a couple of track meets.  Bronwyn's gymnastics club hosted the regional gymnastics meet.  Soren had another birthday.  My Dad came down to help Soren celebrate, and to help Rick maintain some sanity.  Martha had a class play.  And we are beginning the end of school year projects.  It is wearing me out just to think about it.

I spent the weekend driving with the track team to the King's Invitational meet.  It was incredibly cold, but the kids persevered and did very well.  The team generally does well at this meet, which is a lot of fun.  We had so much fun doing the tourist thing in Seattle on Friday, that some of the kids forgot we were there for a track meet.  They are a great team, and we only lost kids for short periods of time.  We made it home with all that we started with.

Here are some highlights of the week:

The line of kids I had to get to music class, fortunately they have learned to travel in a straight line.

Brooke running the medley relay.

The beautiful Seattle Skyline in the evening.

Soren and Nes opening presents.  Happy Birthday Soren!

The team huddled up trying to keep each other warm.  It took some serious teamwork.

Waiting, little breaks in my day to stop, watch, and mull thing over.

Dimples

My Dad coming to visit on a whim.

Grandparents opening their homes to entire track teams.

Ferry rides at sunset.

Patient, humble coaches doing their best to help the kids excel in all areas.

Birds that return each spring to the same neighborhoods.  It is so good to see them back.

Butterflies

Visiting churches and singing with saints you have never met, but they are glad to see you all the same.  Their prayers for our safe travel.

Watching my children overcome hurdles of all varieties.

Learning new things to help children overcome hurdles.

Reminders from friends not to think more highly of myself than I ought, I am so thankful for friends that aren't afraid to give a gentle rebuke.

High schoolers, such amazing potential.  On the edge between being children and being adults, the mix can be very entertaining.

Having opportunities to hang out with the kids.
