My sweet Eden. It seems that no matter how hard I try this sweet little girl gets the short end of the stick. This year her birthday fell on the last day of the elementary school year. I did let her have a party with a friend in her class on Monday. It was a fun lunch party and the weather was even decent.
The actual birthday was a busy one. We had an awards assembly and a field day at school. Almost all of us have colds, so our energy level (mine especially) was running on E. By the time I got the steaks grilled and the table set I was ready for bed. Rick managed to get the cheesecake cut and sang happy birthday. It was not the event I had hoped for, but it could have been worse.
I'm sure that God has something special in store for Eden. She is very sweet, and loves to make people happy. She just isn't always sure how to do that. She is very artistic, and loves to be on stage. I hope that she will have many years of acting ahead of her. She loves to sing. She has a merry heart, with very little encouragement. I pray that God will fill all the gaps that I have left in her life. She has great potential to blossom into a lovely young lady. Keep smiling my little EDBD.

Summer vacation.
Pep talks from friends.
Steaks on the grill.
Last summer's huckleberries delighting birthdays in May.
Chatter of friends studying for finals.
Joy at the end of big tests.
Sunrise at 4:30 a.m.
Dandelions, why does everyone hate these pretty, tenacious flowers? The seeds are so fun to blow!
Wind whipping grass into waves.
Children having dance offs in the driveway, talk about cheap entertainment.
