Is it Friday Yet?

I have started several posts, only to find them wandering aimlessly nowhere.  I guess thought provoking posts will have to wait, and mundane daily life will be the name of the game.  This is the week of transitioning into the summer schedule.  The older kids have had finals this week, while the younger kids have been cleaning out lockers and having play days.

Next week Martha and I are headed for New York.  I have to say that I am terribly excited.  It will be a quick trip, but I know it will be memorable.  We will be speaking at a fundraising dinner for the Rollstone Foundation.  It is a foundation that helps families adopting children with special needs.  They have blessed us mightily in the past few years, and I am so happy to be able to meet Michael and Pam in person.

Tomorrow is Eden's birthday.  Lord willing I will post some pictures of her big day.  She has ordered up steak, potatoes, and cheesecake.  Michele has even offered to make her burritos for lunch.  She had better feel special after a day like that, especially since it is the last day of school.

Here are a few pictures from this last week:

Getting special gifts for seniors that are graduating.

Teary moms watching their babies leave the nest.

Beautiful Brides.

Boys who want to learn to cook, and sing.

First graders crying because life isn't fair.

5th and 6th graders getting the gym set up for the awards assembly.

First grade sound offs, again, and again.

Birthday parties.

Pink strawberry blossoms.

Hospitality from strangers.

A wonderful dinner with my Mom and my husband.

Friends blessing my children on their birthdays.

Getting thank you gifts for all of the people that have served my children all year.

The smell of rain and freshly cut grass.
