I know, this is why most people have cable and X-boxes. We don't have those things, so our kids come up with all kinds of creative things to do with their time. While this is very fun, it isn't what I had planned for my pears. After my dear husband picked up the garden he hid the pears in some deep dark place so the kids wouldn't find them. Unfortunately neither did I, until this morning on my way to coffee with my friends. I called the ladies and let them know I had something pop up that needed to be addressed right away. Five hours, and one messy kitchen later I had these:
During those long hours it occurred to me that I should have called the ladies and had them come over and help. Last year my dear friend Amy helped me and we knocked it out in half the time. Many hands really do make light work. I also want to say that my dear sister-in-law used to can with me, but then she moved away. No guilt trip there. So, domestic goddesses unite! Find a friend and clean your stove, or can 25lbs of pears, or sew a purse. It is so much more fun if you have someone to talk to, and to push play on the DVD for the toddlers.
I finished my job just in time to pick up the rest of the kids at school and head to the big girl's volleyball game. Go Knights!
