Random Life Events

Helen graduated with her B.A. in Accounting from the University of Idaho this weekend. I do remember wondering if I would be able to teach my children to read. Somehow, here we are. They have all learned to read and at least half of them have graduated from Univerisity. Wild.

This weekend Soren smoked a beef brisket, and hosted my parents, Helen's friends, and several of his siblings while we celebrated Helen's graduation. By the way, I am purposefully not letting AI edit all my writing, because, I like breaking grammar rules, and I want everyone to be clear that I wrote this. Soren is currently working for a local farmer, who provides his housing as part of his employment. It's a "quaint" house in a lovely location. He has been treated very well by our community and I am so happy for him. He also makes a great brisket, which is nice.

Karsten and Madie came to celebrate with us. Karsten lives in Minneapolis, which is a long way from here, but a relatively easy flight. He is also blessed with a great job that allows him to be able to travel if he plans ahead. Madie was Gram Pam's ride, and I am so grateful. Having grown children is great. It keeps life spicy. They do crazy things, like Helen is on her way to Europe, and has a hand surgery the day after she returns. Three of them are registered for ultra marathons this summer. They all love to travel when funds allow. They are very hard to keep in one place for more than 24 hours. I am learning to appreciate the time I get and appreciate the time I get with friends.

I am learning to take life one day at a time. Things change quickly. Schedules are not firm. And really, there aren't a lot of things that have to happen on schedule anyway. As Eden likes to say: "I show up, and hope for the best"
