Bucket lists keep coming up lately, and I started thinking I had better actually make one while I still have enough memory cells to remember what it is I want to do before I die, or can't remember who I am, whichever comes first.
1. Pay for dinner for a family I don't know. I have heard so many stories of families that have been out for dinner, and had a stranger pick up the bill for them. I know it has blessed many people, and I really want to do that someday.
2. Visit a warm ocean beach. These things have not gone together in my experience.
3. Get up on a surfboard.
4. Hold my grandchild.
5. Pick an orange from a tree.
6. Take Martha and Nesradine back to visit Ethiopia. I want them to see their families and have that sense of completeness. I know how healing it can be, and I want to be there with them.
7. See a tornado. I've watched Twister too many times.
8. Have a garden.
9. Read Middlemarch.
10. Make a really good tiramisu.
It's a start. I am hoping I have some time to work on it. I will not ever have sky diving on the list. I am really not comfortable with heights, and it's so cliche. I'm quite sure I will never run a marathon, or write a novel. I feel like the list isn't that challenging, I guess I'll have to contemplate that.
Today I am thankful for...
Good friends who have given us so many opportunities to do fun things I couldn't have done by myself
Sunday conversations with good friends
A husband that is handy with home improvement projects
Appliances that work hard for me every single day
Providence, so many coincidences, I think not
Education
Lakes reflecting mountains and stars
